
Ashanti Africana is a multimedia artist and creative director whose work blends visual art, storytelling, and technology into immersive, culturally grounded experiences. Rooted in experimentation, her practice explores identity, perception, and futurism through layered materials, time-based media, and conceptual design.
She trained in Fine Arts with a focus on time-based media at Eastern Michigan University and later graduated with honors from the University of Michigan–Flint, earning a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with studies in digital communications and data interpretation. This hybrid foundation informs her ability to merge intuition with structure across mediums.
Ashanti’s work has been featured in Teen Vogue, Current Magazine, Primatives.xyz, and other platforms highlighting contemporary Black creativity. Through each project, she approaches art as a living system, using technology as a tool for expansion, access, and future-focused storytelling.
